Lusum is a brand dedicated to the sport that is played by a number of different people. From children on the school sports field, to the professional sports people Lusum wants to be able to give all of these levels an equal chance at playing with the best quality ball.

A Rugby Ball for Everyone

It can be an obvious choice to buy a set of well known brand balls for your school or sports team, but we know that the sponsorship costs involved end up being passed onto the people who could do without the extra expense. The small sports clubs, the school teams and children who want a good quality ball, all pay the price for the professional players, teams and associations being sponsored by the big name brands.

This is why we have decided not to enter into any sponsorship deals – this means we can spend more money on making the best ball and pass cost saving onto the customer.

We are the people who love to support sports at grass roots level. We are involved in many different sports and every member of the Lusum team feels the needs and wants of each and every player from the bottom all the way up to the top. Giving you a ball that you want to play with – not a ball that you think you should play with because the professionals are paid to use them.

We are dedicated to every aspect of the game that you are involved in. That is why we have researched everything that goes into making a ball the very best it can be. not only does our entire team live and breathe sport, but we care about giving each sports person the best that they can possibly have, without having an elitist attitude that you get what you pay for. We give you what you pay for and more. We give you the best for what is affordable to most players.


How We Got Here

Who came up with the idea?

Lusum started with a group of sports enthusiasts. There are cricket and rugby coaches, water polo and tennis players and even triathletes who all live and breathe sport. This passion for sport led them to trying to find a solution to a problem they came across time and time again. This problem was to do with sports consumables – and sports ball in particular – were becoming more and more expensive and they wanted to do something to change this.

What did they want to produce?

The team wanted to create something which would help solve a problem in the sporting world – and their passion was the amount of money small clubs and children have to spend on branded balls. Having had experience in the sports industry, the team knew that big brands create huge overheads through sponsorships and advertising and pass those costs down to the small consumers.

So the final idea was…

The team came up with idea of launching a rugby ball brand, a brand with a new modern edge who cared about the quality of the product and not just the profits associated with making such a product. And Lusum was born.

We aim to be first choice for many people who love the sport from children at the start of their journey to people who have been playing rugby for years.

We aim to show people that more expensive does not automatically mean better – providing balls to all levels without discriminating against those who may not have bucket loads of spare cash.

We want to encourage sport at every level and feel that making the very best sports equipment available to everyone will help with this. Improving the quality of ball, improves your game – giving you more encouragement when you are playing. It could give you the competitive edge, the drive and ambition to kepp going and imrpoving in your sport.

We want to see people striving to be the best players and sports people they possibly can be. We want to listen to people who love and play the sport from grass roots to professionals, so we can provide exactly what you want, not just what we think you want.
