How We Got Here
Who came up with the idea?
Lusum started with a group of sports enthusiasts. There are cricket and rugby coaches, water polo and tennis players and even triathletes who all live and breathe sport. This passion for sport led them to try to find a solution to a problem they came across time and time again. Sports consumables and sports balls in particular were becoming more and more expensive and they wanted to do something to change this.
What did they want to produce?
The team wanted to create something which would help solve a problem in the sporting world – and their passion was the amount of money small clubs and children have to spend on branded balls. Having had experience in the sports industry, the team knew that big brands create huge overheads through sponsorship and advertising and pass those costs down to the consumers.
So the final idea was…
The team came up with idea of launching a sports brand, a brand with a new modern edge who cared about the quality of the product and not just the profits associated with making such a product. And Lusum was born.

From Children to Professionals
We aim to be first choice for many people who love the sport from children at the start of their journey to people who have been playing sport for years.
We aim to show people that more expensive equipment and balls does not automatically mean better – providing balls and equipment to all levels without discriminating against those who may not have bucket loads of spare cash.
Encouraging Sport at Every Level
We want to encourage sport at every level and feel that making the very best sports equipment available to everyone will help with this. Improving the quality of the ball and also the equipment, improves your game – giving you more encouragement when you are playing. It could give you the competitive edge, the drive and ambition to keep going and improving in your sport.
